Best things to do in Barcelona 🕺

1) Casa Batllo + Casa Mila

When you in Barcelona, the first thing you notice is beautiful architecture. The city was home to one of the most creative and unique architecture Antonio Gaudi. One of his famous design is Casa Batllo. It is an amazing Apartment building which is inspired by the sea. The exterior façade of the building almost feels like a dragon skull. Casa Batllo is more fascinating from the inside, where you can see the detailed work of Gaudi, where he has intelligently used colors and designs to make it living friendly. No wonder why, Casa Batllo is also called as House of Bones.

Another unique thing about the Casa Batllo tour is that it is done by a smart phone which is preloaded with all the info about different corners in the apartment. The phone is handed at the entrance and has to be returned back when you leave.
The quality of the head set is not that great and we recommend to us your personal one if available.

Ticket Cost: The tickets cost 25€ pp. Recommended to buy a fast track only from the website to avoid tourist trap.Tickets can bought here. ⬅️

Near Train Station: Passeig de Gracia.

Another Gaudi’s creation Casa Mila is very close to Casa Batllo, a mere 5 mins walking distance. Casa Mila looked pretty normal to me so it can be easily avoidable from inside.

2) Sagrada Familia

This is for sure unmissable when you travel to Barcelona. Antoni Gaudi’s masterpiece, which is truly a gift to the city. Sagrada Familia is one of the most mesmerising pieces of architecture I have seen in my life. This is the symbol of Barcelona and the city’s most visited attraction. Few parts of this unique church are still under construction, and due to be completed in 2026, which coincides with the 100th anniversary of Gaudi’s death. The facades of the church show the different life phases of Christ and the interior of the church is based on a forest theme. It almost felt as if I am in the Avatar (Hollywood Movie) setup :P. Its extraordinary window facades will delight you with different shades of color, which is a visual treat.

Audio Guide: I would recommend you to book the audio guide tickets to know the details about this masterpiece. It will help you understand architecture better.
It cost around 25€ pp and can be bought from the Sagrada Familia website directly. ⬅️

Towers view: The Passion Tower and the nativity tower are two towers to climb up for the best sunset city view. I would recommend for nativity tower for a close-up view of spires, as well as the view of the city. But if you are on a budget, you can surely miss it.

Near Station: Sagrada Familia metro station. 🚇

Pro tip: As it attracts most of the visitors would recommend to Pre-Book your tickets online. If you want to visit the towers, make a booking for evening slots for the best sunset view. Price per person 17 € (Basic Admission)

3) Tibidabo:

One of my most favourite experience in Barcelona was traveling uphill to visit the Sagrat Cor Church. The journey started from the city centre Placa De Catalunya metro station towards Peu del funicular by green line S1 or S2. After reaching Peu del Funicular you have to walk 4-5 mins towards Vallvidrera Inferior (Within the station) where you can board your first funicular ride towards Vallvidrera superior.

Change on this station for a bus ride towards Tibidabo (Bus No:111). And here you reach to the most spectacular point of Barcelona.

I would highly recommend you to first visit the beautiful church and yes climb on the top of Sagrat cor towers. The church is totally free for visitors but to climb up, you can use elevators for 2 Euros, which will take you to the first viewing platform. Then you have to climb upstairs for the breathtaking experience. It’s worth climbing. The Christ statue at the top resembles Christ the Redeemer statue in Rio de Janeiro.
After clicking some world-class pictures from the top, If you have time and like adventures, you can also go for the amusement park Tibidabo.

Food Options :🥘
There is plenty of food option up there, so you don’t really have to worry about food after your adventurous travel.

Pro Tip: You should start from the city centre around 3pm afternoon, it takes around 1 hrs to reach Tibidabo. And definitely climb Sagrat de Cor before 5 pm, as they close after 5:30.

Enjoy the unforgettable view of Barcelona and experience the best sunset from Tibidabo.

4) Park Guell:

Another popular attraction in Barcelona is Park Guell, which is again designed by Antoni Gaudi. The creative setup of colourful tiles and unique architecture makes it very attractive. As the entrance to the park is free and you can explore the hidden paths and can do some great trekking, but for the monumental core, you need tickets. The tickets are not really expensive so you can pre-book online for 10€ pp by visiting Park Guell official website.
If the weather is good would recommend you to spend some time in Park Guell and experience creativity.

Pro-Tip: Having been to Casa Batllo, the architecture at Park Guell looked very similar. The monumental core can be skipped if on budget.

La Rambla street, a chaotic but amazing shopping stretch from the waterfront to Placa Catalunya, is a tourist hub in Barcelona. The 19th Century buildings along both the sides, with lots of restaurants, historic buildings, and souvenir stalls make it really busy. If you are in La Rambla, visit the local market La Boqueria, which is situated in the centre of the street. In the evening, you can find plenty of food options and can try the local drink sangria.

Pro tip: Try avoiding a big meal on this street, as the restaurants are quite expensive. You can just grab a drink and stroll around on the street.
